HUGE EDINBURGH HAUL - YSL, MAC, Bare Minerals, Etc.

Hello you beautiful people!
Before I say anything I'd like to offer you a friendly warning, this is a very long post! So if you're planning to read it all, I'd say go and get yourself a cuppa first haha!

With that out of the way, it's time for me to show you how spectacularly I fell off my spending ban wagon once me and my boyfriend went to Edinburgh last week, it was pretty much a ten car pile up with my wagon right in the middle of it!
But really I was saving to go to Edinburgh so I don't feel too bad, I'll feel even better once payday comes tomorrow too!
I went a bit lip product crazy so if you like lipsticks you're gonna love this post!

Firstly we went to John Lewis, department stores are such tempting places, all our favourite high end brands under one roof, how can we resist?!

Firstly, and most excitingly, a YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick!!
I didn't buy this, my boyfriend treated me to it as a Valentines gift, but oh my daaays, I think he might have opened a pandoras box for me!!
I got this in shade 13, Pink In Paris, it's a gorgeous wearable pink and I can see myself getting lots of wear from it.
I will definitely be picking more of these up, the packaging is amazing, so heavy and substantial, I swore I'd never get sucked in by them because for £24 they're a lot of money for a lipstick, but they're so moisturising and shiny, I'm officially a convert!

I also bought this beautiful eyeshadow duo, it's the bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in The Vision, I saw this on the first day we were in Edinburgh and I fell in love, I swatched it but didn't buy it there and then. but a few days later we went shopping again and I just knew I had to have it because I couldn't stop thinking about it!
It includes the shades Illusion and Mirage, Illusion is a very light, white-based pastel blue and Mirage is a amazing duochrome brown/teal colour, so hard to describe but as you can see it's beautiful and very unusual! It's similar to MAC's Club and Urban Decay's Lounge, but when I googled swatches of them all I decided that this one was the most duochrome and had the most eye catching finish on the eyes.
This was £19 for 2 shadows, they're brilliant quality and very pigmented so I think this price is pretty good! I'll definitely be buying more of these!

I also picked up this Burt's Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm because I wanted a intensive lip treatment, because for some reason my lips have been so dry lately!
But this isn't really what I was looking for I don't think, it's not intense enough and doesn't last very long on the lips.

I also got this Pro:Voke Touch Of Silver Intensive Treatment Conditioner, I have the shampoo to go with this and it's basically a purple treatment that brightens very light blonde/silver/grey hair, I use it for my dip dye and it really works, eliminates any brassiness and does a great job!

Then we moved onto Superdrug, I bought the new MUA Undress Me Too palette, this is a dupe for the Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay, I did a full review and comparison of it here :)

I tried to find the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation in the lightest shade (110 - Ivory) in Boots because I was going to spend my Boots point on it, but I could only find shade 130 - Shell, I don't know whether that's the lightest they do in Boots but I checked three different stores and couldn't find it, so I went to Superdrug where it was on offer for £6.99 anyway :) I've only used this once and wasn't hugely impressed, but I'm going to keep trying it out in different ways.

I also picked up Rimmels fairly new foundation Match Perfection in the lightest shade again, and as you can see this is VERY light, the only problem for me is the very light coverage, it's pretty buildable but at the moment I need more coverage than this can offer.
This is on offer for £4.99 at Superdrug.

I've been looking for a lipstick like this for a long time! But it's pretty hard to find one, but this one is perfect, It's Rimmels Kate Moss collection in shade 04, these lipsticks are brilliant quality and I'd definitely recommend them if you're looking for a cheap, great quality lipstick!

Finally got my hands on one of the Rimmel Apocalips (brilliant name!) and I've got to say, as much as I love it I don't get the massive hype just yet, I didn't find it very long lasting on the lips and it was quite messy to apply.
The applicator was very good for application though and the colours amazing, plus it smells like Refresher sweets! So you can't go wrong :) I got this in the shade Nova.

 Another new lip product...oops!!
I got one of the Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivid lipsticks in Shocking Coral, this reminded me a lot of MAC Viva Glam Nicki, it's really moisturising and looks beautiful on the lips, I just wish Maybelline would release all of the colours from this line that they have in the US, they have 10 and here in the UK we only have 5 :(

I really went mad for Rimmel and Maybelline on this shopping trip! They are fast becoming two of my favourite drugstore brands.
This is a Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold, I needed to get this as soon as I swatched it, it's beautiful and these are brilliant for either just a wash of colour or as a eyeshadow base.

Another much hyped product, the Rimmel Scandaleyes (another great name!) eye pencil in Nude, I use this on my waterline but for me it wears off pretty quickly, so I don't understand the hype!

And lastly from Superdrug, I got these Nivea Lip Butters in Caramel Cream and Raspberry Rose, I've heard a lot of hype about these from Miss Glamorazzi on Youtube, and they are wonderful! Moisturising and thick, but if you don't like heavy things on your lips you won't like these.
Also they smell like heaven in a tin! Especially Raspberry Rose!

Picked up these two tartan scarves from a touristy type shop on the Royal Mile, it was 3 for £15 but i gave one to my dad as a gift :)
I've been looking for a red tartan scarf for ages, and where better to get one from but Scotland?!

As I'm a Yankee Candle addict i got these four tarts from a Yankee Scotland shop, I picked up Pink Sands (a pretty, light airy scent, with a touch of floral), Pink Dragon Fruit (a super fruity, strong scent), Camomile Tea (my mam said this smelt like cat wee haha! But I assure you it doesn't, it's a bit lemon-y and sweet) and Paradise Spice (vanilla with some sweet spice thrown in).
Now lastly, onto MAC (if you're still with me, well done!!), I actually went in to buy St Germaine but I came out with MAC's Rebel, which is just about as opposite as you can get!!
It looks a bit scary in the bullet but on the lips it's a gorgeous red/plum colour.
This is a satin finish, which I've never tried before and I worried it would be drying on me, but it's fine! Feels no different to a cremesheen to me!
MAC's Plumful sounds like it would be another bright plum shade, but actually it's the prettiest wash of dark pink colour, great if you're wearing a strong eye and just want a sheer lip, or if you're going for a pretty natural look.
I was going to buy this but my boyfriend snuck off and bought it for me instead! He really is very supportive of my makeup habits :) haha.

Lastly, i finally picked up MAC's Cranberry eyeshadow, this has been on my wishlist for a long time so I finally took the plunge, it's a beautiful colour!
This is my first MAC eyeshadow, it seems good pigmentation and quality but i'd say i prefer Urban Decay and Stila eyeshadows.

And that's that!! Hopefully I won't be shopping for a long time...but I can't promise that of course!

Thanks for reading! If you got this far, then I salute you!

It's beautiful, and so long lasting! It's quite an unusual colour too, i only invest in MAC lipsticks when i really think the colour will be hard to get hold of from any other brand!
